All aboard for our first Tourism on Track event on 19 March 2026. Taking place at the historic Bolton Abbey Station on the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, during English Tourism Week (13 – 22 March), the event invites attractions, accommodation providers, and tourism businesses from across the county to climb aboard to celebrate the start of a busy season for the visitor economy.

What’s on the agenda?

The event will feature a literature exchange, giving attractions the chance to share marketing materials with hotels, B&Bs, and self-catering providers. In turn, accommodation businesses can pick up guides and leaflets showcasing the best things to do in the area, ensuring guests make the most of their visit to North Yorkshire.

Attendees will also hear from key speakers, including Head of Tourism, Tony Watson, who will provide an update on the Visit North Yorkshire journey so far, next stops for 2026 and outline opportunities for businesses to get on board. Keep an eye out for additional speakers announced soon.

Networking with a difference

The event also offers plenty of time to connect with industry peers. A highlight will be a 40-minute train ride, giving attendees the chance to network on board or simply relax and take in the stunning scenery on one of North Yorkshire’s many unique tourism experiences.

Media opportunity

We’re delighted to be working with Your Media Group as our radio partner who broadcast across Harrogate, Skipton and Ilkley. They’ll be on hand to interview attendees and help promote your events and activities for the season ahead.

How to get involved

Invitations will be emailed shortly, but you can register your interest for the literature exchange now by contacting biz@visitnorthyorkshire.com with “Literature Exchange Place” in the subject line.

Mark your calendars for Thursday 19 March 2026, this is an event you won’t want to miss!
