We now offer attractions and large accommodation providers who make regular changes and updates to their content the option of logging in with a username and password to enter those changes directly to the visit North Yorkshire system.
Guidelines
To keep the Visit North Yorkshire website consistent and easy for users to read and interpret, we ask all businesses using our direct login to adhere to the following style guide points:
- Break long text into sections with useful headings to aid interpretation and help users find particular sections they may be looking for.
- Use H3 for your paragraph headings
- Avoid placing hyperlinks within your copy; instead refer to your website, which is linked via a button near the top of your listing.
- Do not use any emojis or similar symbols.
- Do not use block capitals.
- Do not use bold text (for paragraph titles use H3, for subheading, H4).
- Event listing URLs should be a direct link to the specific event page on your website, not your homepage
- Event Categories should be assigned only for those that relate to the event, not the venue. i.e. A food fair in the grounds of a castle would not be a heritage event, but a would be a food and drink event.
- To help us keep our events pages valuable to users, less categories is better than many, most events should only have one or two categories assigned.
- Listing images should be landscape in orientation and resized to 1200 × 800 pixels or similar. Images should not contain text or written detail that users may wish to read, and posters must not be used.
- Make sure you have permission for your images to be used in line with our advertising terms and conditions
Visit North Yorkshire will review these guidelines as needed, and we request users abide to these and any addition requests for content we may make.
