This January 2025 saw the Visit North Yorkshire team attend the Vakantiebeurs Conference in Utrecht, the Netherlands alongside stand partners Make it York, the North York Moors National Park, and Castle Howard.
Vakantiebeurs is an internationally renowned annual travel event attended by representatives all under one roof. This was the 54th edition of the event, which saw more than 900 exhibitors representing locations all around the world. More than 71,000 visitors attended, looking for travel inspiration for upcoming trips, and we were busy encouraging them that York and North Yorkshire should be their next destination.
The first few days of the event saw the team networking with a host of journalists, editors, and publishers from international media outlets. This was followed by members of the public from The Netherlands and beyond looking for inspiration for their next holiday.
The stand aimed to inspire attendees to make York and North Yorkshire their 2025 and 2026 holiday destinations. Many visitors to the stand were inspired by the beauty of the countryside, food and drink options, as well as visiting iconic locations seen on their TV screens.

Easy transport from the Netherlands by ferry to Hull and Newcastle, as well as flights to Leeds Bradford Airport made York and North Yorkshire a tempting destination for those looking for their next break to the UK.
We are continuing to network with key media and industry professionals at the upcoming shows, IMM UK later this month, and World Travel Market in November.
