Attracting new customers for North Yorkshire’s restaurant scene
Restaurant Weeks provide a new opportunity for restaurants, cafes and bars across North Yorkshire to attract residents and visitors to try out somewhere new to eat, at an affordable price.
The Restaurant Week format is a popular and effective way of driving new footfall to businesses. Towns and cities across the UK including Leeds and York, host restaurant weeks that have shown increased participation year-on-year.
The objectives of a Restaurant Week are:
- Attract new customers to your business
- Boost awareness of your food and drink offer
- Create regular repeat customers for your business
How It Works
Set Price Points
Participating businesses commit to provide special set price menus throughout the week at fixed price points for example – £10, £15, £20, £25, £30 or £35.
The set menu format is the most effective way of presenting your offer e.g. two courses for £15; two mains and two drinks for £20 – however that works for your business.
Learning from Successful Restaurant Weeks
Customer feedback shows that the best performing offers are:
- Clear and easy to understand
- Perceived to be good value/high quality
- Experience at the venue matches their expectations
- Not too many restrictive terms and conditions
- Unique to Restaurant Week
Eligibility Criteria
- All businesses listed on the Visit North Yorkshire website are eligible to participate in Restaurant Week.
- We partner with a local radio station for each Restaurant Week to host the offers. Businesses can submit offers by a Google Form which becomes available a few weeks prior to the start of each Restaurant Week.
- Visit North Yorkshire will use submitted information to promote your business, and submit this to the radio station, where the offer is available for customers to download. To get the most from our promotion make sure you have a listing on visitnorthyorkshire.com.
