Courses for growing your business
Visit North Yorkshire is partnering with the York and North Yorkshire Growth Hub and City of York Council on an initiative to deliver fully funded training and certification courses for tourism and hospitality businesses across North Yorkshire and York. The courses on offer include:
- Mental Wellbeing in Hospitality
- Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety for Catering
- Level 2 Food Allergen Awareness
- Managing Customer Conflict in Hospitality
- Licensing Law Awareness Training

Courses for employers
As part of the Get Britain Working Economic Inactivity Trailblazer, North Yorkshire Council is offering a range of free learning and development opportunities to employers across North Yorkshire.
In-person training:

- Employee Wellbeing, Malton & Norton, 7 October, 9.30am - 3pm
- Employee Wellbeing, Sherburn-in-Elmet, 25 November, 9.30am - 3pm
- Employee Wellbeing, Richmond, 13 January 2027, 9.30am - 3pm
- Employee Wellbeing, Knaresborough, February 2027, TBC
- Employee Wellbeing, Skipton, 2 March 2027, 9.30am - 3pm
Online training:
In addition to the in-person training, employers and employees can access a comprehensive online learning package through the Learning Zone.
This includes a wide range of courses covering topics such as:
- Equality, diversity and inclusion
- Neurodiversity awareness
- Disability etiquette and inclusive recruitment
- Tackling bias and harassment
- Cultural awareness and inclusive communication
- Building resilience and emotional intelligence
