North Yorkshire tourism businesses are being invited to share their views on the proposed introduction of an overnight visitor levy.
Following the government’s announcement that regional mayors could be given powers to introduce local visitor levies in England, North Yorkshire Council is preparing its response to the national consultation. To ensure the voice of the sector is fully represented, we are asking tourism businesses across the county to complete a short survey.
The potential introduction of a visitor levy in North Yorkshire brings both opportunities and challenges for the industry. Hearing directly from the businesses at the heart of the visitor economy is essential, and this feedback will play a key role in shaping the council’s position.
The survey can be completed via this link: https://online1.snapsurveys.com/n59rjl. It takes 5 to 7 minutes to complete and will close on 22 January. If you’d like to have a further discussion on this topic, we encourage you to contact us at biz@visitnorthyorkshire.com.
Businesses are also encouraged to engage directly with the government’s open consultation, which closes on 18 February. For more details and to respond go to: https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/overnight-visitor-levy-in-england
