Making North Yorkshire a place to “find your escape”

This Spring we launched our first partner-led destination marketing campaign as Visit North Yorkshire.

Our “Find your escape” campaign promotes North Yorkshire as an ideal destination for holidays and short breaks where people can find their ideal escape. North Yorkshire is famed for its iconic, sweeping landscapes and beautiful gardens, and this campaign uses these through inspirational imagery and marketing activity to entice visitors to book their next holiday in the county.

The campaign targets two key audiences; Aspirational Family Fun, who are mostly London-based high earners with children at home looking for family-friendly activities – an audience we would like to grow, and Country-Loving Traditionalists who empty nesters with traditional values, typically aged 50 and over – an audience that already visits but who we would like to retain.

As part of the campaign, we have produced a campaign visitor guide highlighting campaign partners and key outdoor spaces in the county. This guide is being distributed to high footfall areas both in North Yorkshire and to locations within a 1-hour drive.

This month we were delighted to see outdoor advertising at key strategic locations across the country. The adverts featured campaign imagery from our campaign partners and were featured at Newcastle Central Station, Manchester Piccadilly Station, Leeds City Centre, and London Kings Cross.

We also completed some high-quality videography showcasing our campaign partners and outdoor locations people can visit on their short break. The videos can be viewed on the Campaign Landing Page and will feature on the Visit North Yorkshire website and in social media advertising targeting our key audiences.

All campaign activities will drive traffic to the dedicated campaign page, where visitors will be able to find their perfect escape itinerary for a short break in North Yorkshire.
