North Yorkshire’s Destination Management Organisation

Established in April 2023, following local government reorganisation, Visit North Yorkshire is the destination management and marketing organisation within North Yorkshire Council and a VisitEngland accredited Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) with Make it York, York & North Yorkshire Combined Authority and City of York Council.
The role of Visit North Yorkshire is to work in partnership with the tourism industry to deliver North Yorkshire’s 10-year Destination Management Plan (DMP) to support the sustainable growth of the county’s £4billion visitor economy.
Visit North Yorkshire is made up of teams each working to deliver the priorities of the DMP:
Place Development: Data and Intelligence, Accessibility and Sustainability projects, grants and funding (LVEP, SPF, S106 and Plan for Growth), place and product development and travel trade engagement
Commercial & Partnership: Building partnerships and relationships, partner opportunities and packages
Destination Marketing: Brand identity, profile raising, creative and targeted marketing campaigns, inspiring digital content, PR and influencer engagement, creation of vibrant photography and video
Strategic Events and Visitor Services: Attracting new events, conferences and exhibitions to North Yorkshire, ensuring visitors receive the best service possible from our Tourist Information centres in Whitby, Settle and Ripon.
